Citation For Being TOO low?!

    so recently i just got pulled over for crossing the safety zone trying to get into the left turn lane by a texas state trooper, or well warning for that but once she pulled me over she decided to ticket me for being too low and having my hid's being too blue but give me a warning for crossing the safety zone and precede to tell me that theres so many things wrong with my car (haters)... just wondering if anybody's ever gotten a citation/ticket for being too low?

    She's right. There are laws about vehicle height and head light color. Pretty much any mod to your car is illegal somehow.

    i didn't know any of this until this incident happened, she said for the hid's as long as the car didn't come with it its illegal, and i think she had said something about the wheel well and thats how they determined the height or some crap like that....

    Yes that's a law that I've been nabbed for as well. Not sure about Texas but in California your headlights have to be a certain height off the ground.

    Do some research on the height thing and fight it if you can. Seriously man, that's like getting pulled over in a corvette or Porsche and being told the manufacturer made the car too low, gonna have to impound you.

    Manufactures make their cars to follow certain guidelines though, they don't make the corvette only legal in some states

    Yeah but the corvette is almost certainly lower than any lowered corolla naturally, so unless their citing him for the modification, getting a ticket for being low is ridiculous.

    Maybe it's not, a corvette had the lights pretty high up there on the top of the bumper/fender area. I'm kinda curious now.

    I read on one forum the lowest point of a newer corvette is about 3 inches off the ground. Anyone beat that in their corolla?

    I suggest adding rally lights that sit above your hood. That way you can just blind everybody with (4) 100W off road halogen bulbs. Never notice the blue HID's.



    Kill 2 problems with 1 set of lights :rolleyes:

    In California. Your headlights have to be a certain height off the ground. Not necessarily the body. And as far as the lights. You cannot have blue or red lights because it is the po po colors. Don't know how Texas law is written. But most of the time they're similar state to state
