Chrome or Gunmetal Altezza taillights..which looks better?

I got superwhite as the color of my Corolla. Do you think it would look much nicer to have a chrome Altezza taillight put on or gunmetal taillights installed?

yea, i got a white corolla..ive seen them with both chrome and gunmetal altezzas, they look pretty off..chrome altezzas look off on almost all color corollas to me..the gunmetal ones only look good on the light silver color.

well, I just saw a brand new Lancer with stock chrome clear taillights driving around. The body is white also, and it looks pretty sharp. Then again, it has a different body and lights. It was some old couple driving it with no plates yet. Looks like all the car manufacturers are catching on that cleared out taillights is the way to go these days.

The thing I don't like about the Alteeza chrome taillights for the Corolla, is that it is kind of fuzzy looking and not really clear like the Lancer or some of the other cleared out taillights. There are too much lines in there and reflective material that ruins it, even for the Altis. Gunmetal, I can imagine would alter the look of the Corolla more because you are blending darker color with white which stands out. Everybody here has regular chrome tailllights.

From what everyone here is saying, I think I'm going to get the gunmetal lights.....

Well, when I got to the shop to pick out my taillights, i had the gunmetal one and the chrome one side by side. I compared them for a long time and even matched them up to my car. I finaly decided to get the chrome one.

I have to tell you that the chrome looks great. I love it. My friends were in awe when they saw it. It matched pretty well with the superwhite color. The little white relay that split the brake and turn signal lights were a pain in the a** to get off. I had to break off the little plastic piece on the stock light to get it off. THe lights from the trunk cover was a pain to remove. I though it wouldn't come off at first, but I forced it and finally it came out. I hate those plastic fasterners. I broke all those too. Why does it have to be on so tight? I would be satisfied with just the 2 bolts mounted.

yea, taking off the lights off the trunk were a bitch, but i just pryed it out with a screwdriver and it eventually came off.

i say go with redout tails. just red out the yellow signal and you'll be set. Nice and clean. Looks sorta stock...but there's something catchy about it. You'll prolly spend at least 100 bucks and have a hard time to install the cf/gm/chrome lights when you can just get the red sticky film for 3 bucks, cut out a 4" diameter circle, and just slap it on. Just my opinion though...

it wasnt that hard, probabaly one of the easiests mods done to my car. but i like my tail lights, it matches my color scheme perfectly. the only thing i wouldve like differnet on my cf tails was that the signal lens was clear cuz i would rather have amber signals with the clear lens. oh yea, and bout the stock lights, those pinkish reverse light lens makes it look weird. all bout what kinda look your lookin to get out of your car

Yeah, I've already got them on. I got the chrome one to go with the white body of the car. It looks real good. My turn signals are white instead of amber now due to the new taillight cover. The break light really looked nice as it took up the whole circle instead of the half circle from stock setup. I love how the lights reflect inside of the chome plating. At night, it looks so nice. I thought it was a good investment to have the taillight changed out because it made the overall car look really aggressive, esepcially with the Altis grill added on.

hey, what kind of bulbs did you get for your rear signal lights?

All the bulbs I used is stock. The Alteeza tailllights didn't have the amber color that is found on the stock taillights, which is why my turn signal is white. The original turn signal bulb wasn't the amber color found on some Corollas, but just a regular bulb. My brake bulb were white too, but the housing for the Altezza taillights was red with chrome all around the inside. At night, it made it a really bright red as the light is reflected in all directions.

As of now, I really don't have a way to post pics. I have no scanner or digital camera. I don't even have a regular camera, can you believe that? It looks really clean during the day and night, just jumps out at you.
