that rhdjapan is a crappy price. you can get the 16's for 270 a wheel, already in stock in the USA.

anybody know what our stock bore diameter is? what size of hubcentric ring wold be necessary.

    15's are 10.7
    16's are 13.7
    17's are 14.8

only the 14's are super light, larger sizes there's a lot of wheels that weigh less

anyway I'll be looking at these for my next set of wheels. :)

Anybody who cares about performance and doesn't care what people think looks good.

For a while I wanted to get the 14" BBS wheels from the older Miata's but they were hard to find and expensive, so I got Heliums. They are the lightest weight for the price. But 8 lbs is awesome, just make sure not to get tires that are heavy.

    thats a novel idea...

but anyone who cares about performance doesnt neuter their braking system by running an impossibly small wheel. you may be able to increase short term braking performance by adding aggressive pads, but youll never get continuous and reliable braking ability in a performance atmosphere with the tiny stock rotors/drums. sorry.

i know they dont have just 14s, but if you read into what i was writing you would have figured out that the 14s are the only ones in the weight that he stated in his first post. 1 + 1 = 2

Why do all road racers and autoxers run the smallest and lightest wheels they can fit over their brakes...because less rotational mass does not require massive braking power. Stock sized performance rotors, pads and SS brakelines go a long way in stopping any car especially our light Corollas. Even after a full track day, my stock sized brakes have never failed me on my AE86.

because auto-xing isnt hot lapping and allows for time to cool your breaks, i know because i did it competitively for ~4 years... in my 2 '85 corolla GTS'.

youre confusing small for light. a smaller wheel and tire overall will change gearing for better accel, but then youre stuck with no brakes. you can get a light 16in wheel too. there comes a point where youre just splitting hairs and the last few ounces are just a pissing contest.

and if you havent driven through your breaks on your corolla yet, then you havent driven... sorry. i have gone through several sets of stock blanks, slotted rotors, and stupid cross drilled and slotted rotors all with hawk performance pads and fluid. i know for a FACT that under harsh racing conditions that our stock brakes are worthless for anything more than an all out lap or two.

argue with me all you want... you cant argue the FACT that the brakes do not have the mass, or design, to handle severe braking.

these 14s would be a good auto-x wheel, since auto-x doesnt require much longevity of the vehicle. but beyond that... not so much.

I told Danny I wasn't going to respond but I will and it'll be my last. Perhaps you should re-read my response where I said road race (on a race track whether it's lapping day or race) and AutoX. As for wheels I said small and light which has served me very well over my 20+ yrs of experience in AutoX and track. You seem to know it all so I'll keep my experiences to myself.

those wheels look awesome... ive been looking into some BBS LMs lately though

you should have taken your own advise.

actually you might want to re-read my post... YOU HAVENT DRIVEN IT HARD IF YOU HAVENT DRIVEN THROUGH THE STOCK BRAKES! if you drive slow enough around the road course, as it seems you do, then bone stock pads will do just fine too.

and keeping your experiences to yourself might be a good idea, they obviously dont apply to the topic at hand.

i think you could rock a +25 with a serious fender roll. are the wheels on that civic a +15? looks like a much lower offset.

yeah , there 15. the 0 looks nasty. i know i cant get my rolla , to camber to take a 0 and oull it off , lookin good. besides , with that much camber it really will sh*t on my handling. with the 15 off set i dont have to go nuts on the camber. i can keep the rear under 3 degrees , and the front under 2.

this is 0 offset , too much. ill look for some more examples.

didnt mean to thread jack , but we were on the topic of wheels.

o offset is way too aggressive , thats why i think im gonna stay in the teens or lower 20's w/ a 15x8:)
