    Check Engine Light :(

My check engine light went ON this morning (6/1) and I had just installed my new Cold Air Intake on Friday (5/28 ). My car seems fine and it idles at about 800 RPM when i turn it on, but there is alot of hissing in the morning when i turn the car on. But other than that i cannot find anything wrong with the car. the only thing i could think of is that the VSV hoses are not on correctly on the MAF sensor and the Intake tube. if any one has a picture of the right setup for that and send it to me , that would be appreciated greatly. thanx

Hey i had the exact same problem w/ mine. Did you install it yourself? That MAF sensor is very very sensitive, the slightest wrong touch could mess it up altogether. I found out that I had a bad MAF sensor from the beginning. So I went to a junkyard and they sold me an 03 matrix MAF sensor (same model # and everything) and then I erased the codes and now its fine. Hasnt come back on again *knock on wood*
Also the sucking sound you hear when u first start your car is normal, its just warming up so it sucks a lot more air in.

Yeah me and 2 of my buddies helped me install it. I think it could be the MAF sensor as well but i dont know where i could buy one because i dont have any junk yards near by (i dont think?) so if you know a website i could order it from or something thanx. Thank you for your help CorollaS916

No problem. yea me and my 2 buddies did the install too, so I think we have the same issue going on..I bought the MAF sensor from a year here that sells strictly toyota parts for 70.00. Not too bad since it worked out ok. You might have to purchase it thru the dealer, or as some people have mentioned b4, put ur old airbox setup back on and take it in for a warranty replacement if ur still under it. One thing to make sure though, u have to erase the codes in the ECU or ur CEL light will still stay on. They dont automatically erase. If you go through the dealer, they'll do that for you.
