that's a good deal since its an OEM and u dnt hafta pay dat much...

in my case, i had to get my distributor assembly from a junkshop or this place where we could find boosted cars that were chopped and sold into smaller parts... i think mine came from a 97, and i got a good deal for it, my ride is running smoothly now...

the CEL really serves its purpose and if you've got the benjamins, a good preventive measure is far off better than wondering why that damn CEL is on while running a good number of miles from further escalating the problems of your ride...

    check engine light issues

i've posted a topic like this before... but to those who are encountering the same thing... piece of advise... better go and have it checked at your toyota service center... ASAP!!!

alot of folks here mention about grounded wires and all, but to my surprise, mine turned out to be the distributor malfunction that i was ranting about in my other thread... and i've also heard from others that they got rid of their engine light to solve their check engine light from lighting while driving...

it's no wonder i had that check engine light for almost a year and i didn't know it was more than just grounded wires or sensors... finally, my distributor just bugged down on me... when i had it replaced, that check engine light thingy problem of mine was solved... just my two cents on the issue...

My CEL has been on for about 30,000 miles..it's throwing P041 (I think) -- improper purge valve flow detected in emissions control system. So..I go to Advance Auto to buy the purge valve from the charcoal canister -- DEALERSHIP ONLY. Gah.

yeah. my engine light went on recently too...my engine for some reason couldn't exceed 3000rpm. I took it to a mechanic, and they hooked it up to a computer box thingy and told me my MAF sensor was bad. Yeah, those little shits are expensive as hell..but everything is fine again.

Yea.. My CEL was on for a while too.. it went away everytime I disconnected the battery terminal... I found out accidently and didn't keep doing it. anyways my problem was a O2 sensor needed to be replaced. Damn O2 sensors...

02 sensors are gaslers... they're very expensive, little shitty sensor breakdown are causes of major problems like idling and acceleration... it's just pathetic that too much technology doesn't help...

what's cool about carb or muscle engines, their troubleshoots could be easily detected manually...

my check engine light came on and i took it to advance auto parts and thelky checked itand recet it... it said something about the emissions or something.... but if there actually is a problem shouldnt the light come back on in a couple days.. cus that was like 3000 miles ago and no cel yet?
