    charging Air Conditioning system

I am thinking of charging up the air conditioning system b/c it is running kind of weak especially when its pretty warm outside. About how many psi should the system be filled up to? Right now it indicates from the pressure guage that the system is running on 24 psi. Although I noticed that the psi goes up when the air conditioning cycles off.

what are the dangers of overcharging the system

compressor damage and failure. take to your local shop and have it checked to factory specs. also make sure correct ratio if oil and freon are in the system.

I used one of those do it your self kits from walmart. I just ended up taking the kit back to walmart though and just had firestone evacuate and recharge the system. Im an amateur to AC systems and didnt want to chance messing anything up.
