    i had the same thing happen to mine. There's nothing wrong with it, but the laser lens just has to be cleaned.

    Go to Tower Records, Borders, or any other large CD store and they should sell a CD laser lenz cleaner. Usually they're made by Maxell or Memorex or soebody and it's basically a cd with a charged brush on the bottom that cleans the laser and frees it of charged particles. It shouldn't cost you more than $10.

    cd player

    i have an 2003 corolla. any time i go over a bump, the cd player skips alot. even little bumps or ones i take my time going over it still skips. is there a reason for this or is it a defect?
