    Carputer project one step closer.

Mounted the puter on some 1/4" lexan, just need to do it's grounds on the bottom, pick up a 400w inverter, and a 7" lcd touchscreen, the obd2 diagnostics and gps can wait a lil while.

dude, i did something like that to my old car. Pentium III laptop which i took apart, put it underneath the seat, put a 7 inch touch screen where the storage box is and also put track ball mouse near the ebrake.

    Problems i had:
    1. ventilation problems.
    2. hard drive could not absorbs shocks well therefore creating lots of fragmentation
    3. touch screen was a bad idea
    4. screen i bought was made in taiwan and was cheap so brightness sucked.
    5. originally went with a touchpad mouse but when the car gets hot inside, mouse would not work so had to go with track ball.
    6. computer broke after 1 year.

If your mobo support USB boot, you should replace the HDD with USB flash drive.

ya for the driver that is my point, it will keep the drivers eyes on the road and force a person to play only when parked. now as for my son in the back seat he can see it fine for movies on long trips.
some things are better off uncomfertable.
