Eww that's the 01-02 front? I've seen them before but I guess I didn't pay attention. Is the center of the front valences always all chopped off looking?

That's fuckin ugly. I mean his car is cool but I always figured that was a homemade lip of sorts. I can see why people retrofit the 98-00 lip on the 01-02 bumper.

That's too funny, cause I always liked the 8.5 better growing up. I think I have a photoshop of it, but you don't want to see it.

Probably because the parts are so rare that he took what he could get.

So much for reading all those magazines

Magazines have new cars in them, not an economy car from the last century.

I didn't start getting subscriptions until 2003 or so, although I did read some since I was about 9 or 10. But back then I wouldn't have memorized the differences of a TRD lip kit. Which I doubt would have been in a magazine anyway.

Which is why me reading all kinds of magazines has no relevance to me knowing what the 01-02 lip looks like.

A little Rice never hurt anyone. But I tell my wife it is a cupholder for my drink when I'm working under the hood.

    Nice showing!

I don't believe the designers at TRD/Molly Designs put enough time into the 8.5 front lips to do them justice.

Uh, last time I checked, 2002 was in the current century. But maybe that has changed and I didn't get the memo. [shrug]

Well this generation of car came out in 1998, the previous century last time I checked. Being an older guy (and I was assuming smarter) who isn't a pointless member I figured you would have known what I was referring to. There were TRD lips for this car in the previous century. Way to pick nits though.

Not yet. I'm not doing any motor work until I can get it done right. That will include going all motor to build up the innards first, then turboing. And I plan on paying someone who knows what the hell they are doing to build it.

    True

I prefer to think of myself as an Elder Statesman. And you know what they say about assuming.

    Thank you.

Yes, I knew that. But I thought you were specifically referring to the 8.5 gens which are all 21st century.

    One of my specialties.

So, I guess this means that the tow hook really isn't a cupholder, after all?
