    Carbon Fiber Hood Question

    For those who know, or who have a carbon fiber hood for the 03 rolla, is it approved for highway use?

    well... i don't have any problems with cops.. i mean they never stop me just because of my hood (mostly because speeding.. LOL..).. so i guess as long as your hood don't fly away on the freeway, it should be legal...

    yea, cops down here dont really pull anyone over for cf hoods, but its just that we have this thing called recon and it allows a lot of mods (rims, drop, exhaust, aftermarket tail lights) to be legal as long as they are sae/dot and meet a bunch of other requirements. there "rule" on carbon fiber hoods is that they have a primarty and secondary latch (which most do anyways) and they must have a decal on it stating that it is approved for highway use.

    i don't have any hood pins. and i never have problem with cops.. i remember i got stop 3 times because of speeding, but none of the cop ask me about the CF hood..

    btw... everytime when i stop to get some gas in the gas station, some people will walk by and tell me the hood looks really nice.. it makes me look really good.. lol

    im not really worrited bout the cops, but i wanna just make sure it passes my inspection. does it have the "for offroad use only" decal?

    i just needed to know if it has a decal stating "for offroad use only". that decal would be in effect for cali or hawaii if it was there.
