ya know.. ive had that happen before ... still to this day i have no fuckin clue what caused it... but... my car returned to normal and ran just fine... usually thats caused by an imbalance in the vacuum - could be one of those emissions devices hooked to your throttle body/intake - i'd put money on it... :)

i dont think adjusting the screw is the problem... its definately a sensor error or something... the car was serching for the idle for some reason. usually means a vacuum leak but all the vacuum lines are fine and connected so thats why i asked. thanks for the reply ill see how it runs tomorrow hopefully it was just a self curing thing.

It should be self curing ...

I'm thinking it has something to do with that EVAP switch... maybe sometimes it gets stuck open or something???

    Either way it self corrects...

Sky, - definitely something you dont wanna adjust idle screw on is a vacuum issue, hehe when it self-fixes itself or when you fix the vacuum line yur gonna be screwed... lol

It's probably flooding out. My 1990 Camry did the exact same thing. It was the fuel pressure regulator that had crapped out. The fuel pressure was staying on the high side even at idle. Having the idle adjusted too high will also cause the same symptoms. Check the vacuum hose for the FPR and check the FPR itself.

actually i think that this have something to do with the throttle body coolant bypass and the cold weather we have the last 2 days here cause its 62 out today and its not doing it... im gonna run the coolant lines back thru the throttle body and see it it cures the problem the next time it gets cold. as for the fuel pressure regulator... its in the tank on the corollas and its not vaccum controled. theres no return fuel line and the CEL has not come of for running rich so i doubt that its a fuel delivery problem. i think the IAC valve is getting to cold from the cold air intake and the coolant not flowing thru the throttle body.
