Car Deck and # of Preouts

Hi guys i have a question, im interested in getting the Kenwood KDC-MPV622 MP3 CD Car Deck with the colourshock display but it only has 2 preouts, i was told that to be able to have sub volume control you need 3 preouts, can anyone help me with this? Cuz I want to be able to control my subz somewhat instead of just adjusting the gain on the amp, i have bought the subz and going to buy the amp I just need to know if this deck will be good or not to get or to get the Panasonic CQDF783 MP3 Car CD Deck which has 3 preouts but I like the kenwood better cuz its $50 cheaper and changes colours. Thanks.

yeah, if you only have two preouts then you wont have a subwoofer out.. you'll have to use one of those preouts for the subwoofer. The gain on those most likely will not be adjustable from the headunit.. Some of alpines higher end headunits have built in crossovers that allow you to adjust the gain for the front and rear channels, and sub out.. other than that i dont think most head units will let you adjust the gain on the right and left outputs.. you might want to check out some other headunits :
including the JVC KD-LH3100, which has a changing color screen and 3 line outs, but they are probably only like 2-3 volts. check them out on ebay, they are only like 175 bucks.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43947&item=2446951933

here is the same one with 4 volt preouts.. The reason for 4 volt preouts is that your amp gets a cleaner signal with the higher voltage input it receives.. The gain doesnt need to be set as high, and there is less distortion... it may not be very noticable between the two.

it looks much better than the kenwood in my opinion and it has 3 sets of 4v preouts..
    a better picture http://www.clarion.com/proaudio/proaudiofm.htm

unfortunately it seems sellers are hardly ever posting good pictures of products.. It could be lawsuits or something, because the are probably unauthorized to sell, and they were getting the pictures from manufacturers website's.. i'm not sure.. check out jvcs website, or just do a search on the web and you should find better pictures..
