can a 03' rolla have potential with a supercharger????

wassup guys. NOOBie up in this -ish. well, my brother has a 03' Rolla. We're both trying to beef up his car together. More like a brother project car. This week we went to a performance shop and bought some Tenzo R RS5's with the black spokes with the silver dish. Just received the Eibach pro-kit spings to replace Skunk2 coilovers(too bumpy). The Rolla is the midnight blue and just got the windows tinted. And just recently i just purchased a black grille from ebay. so basically his car is going to be blue and black. i will post pictures soon. But my main question is about the trd supercharger and wonderin' if it is good enough to beat or even smoke most honda's and gs-r's?? i've heard somewhere that the s/c only takes the rolla to around 170-180 hp. Is the trd s/c worth the money for rolla's? has anyone that has a s/c feel that this mod. has turned a new rolla into a monster??? and is it ideal for it to beat gs-r's with the s/c??? let me know, thanks guys.

If you want some real power, go with a custom turbo setup. For the price of the s/c you can have a nice turbo that will give you the power you need.

At least, that's what I would do. ;)

i'll say that s/c is good if you dont wanna do alot maintaince to your car and most s/c is reliable and also a good sleeper car, what i heard about turbo you have to do alot of maintaince.so if you do go for a s/c i recommend you do some internal work also to add more hp and dont forget your 3 basic performance parts(exhaust, headers, sri because i heard cai wont fit right)and after that you should beat a s/c gsr unless that grs engine is fully built and thats when your in a big trouble.

i just ordered my supercharger for my 03 corolla for $1,800 for the main unit and ECU new and sealed in the box. the cheapest turbo kit ive seen was about 2800-3500. plus the supercharger is specifically designed for the corolla and much easier to maintain. a turbo kit would take allot of tuning at first. the trd supercharger and ecu are simply iplug in and bolted on and your basically ready to go. plus if you drive you car everyday the supercharger gives you that torque that is nice for day to day stop and go driving.

i would think the "potential" ends once you put a s/c in...

well it depends on what you consider potential... a daily driver with some nice torque for driving around the city and is completely reliable. or a high end recer that is great at the track but sux for everyday driving, and requires much more maintainence and may not be as reliable. i mean come on think about it if the turbo kit was as reliable as the supercharger TRD woulda made a turbo kit instead.

Trust me man here in P.R. my rolla is doing around mid 15's and its N/A, when I put the S/C with all the other things trust me it will shock many none believers. After the S/C there are alot more things that help it look around. I have my list I just need the money. S/C all the way, power at the touch of the pedal.

Drakon your right on.I had a S/C installed in my 03 corolla S,at first I had second thoughts due to the cost. But when I left the dealership the increased tourqe and the power at the touch of the pedal sold me.jumped on the freeway no hesitation in accelleration zig zagging through traffic.having the dealership install the S/C the S/C will be part of the cars current warrenty.if you have the $$$$ trust me you'll have a hot corolla looking and preying on those hondas. But remember work on the suspension first and formost.
