    CAI and fuel mileage

What effect does a CAI have on fuel economy? I'm specifically considering the TRD CAI.

My trd intake hasn't affected my gas mileage in any noticable way. Had it on for about 5 months or so.

What about performance at lower rpms? I hear the CAI robs power from the low end to feed the high end. Wouldn't that nessecitate having to rev higher to keep up, and thus using more fuel? Or is the change pretty minor?

    Low end

I have noticed no differance in low end performance... But when it gets up to about 4000 RPMs, hang on... there is a noticable gain in performance... I'm very happy with the outcome.

So I guess it is safe to say the only gain you get with a CAI for us is a gain in performance in higher RPM's then?? And no noticalble gain in gas mileage.
