    Bypass Valve location?

Alright well i did on search on this forum for any and all post relating to bypass valves but no one really says that they have one and it works with their EL prototype intake nor do they talk about ever installing one or hearing of anyone finding a good location.

    So now my question:

Before I tear into my intake i was curious as to whether anyone has installed an AEM by pass valve on their EL prototype intake and if so where did they cut the pipe?

Looking at my pipe and the fuse boxes there doesnt' seem to be much room for the valve itself, especially since you have to put it before the EVAP vacume line and the MAF sensor... so if anyone has any information that'd be great.

it's basically placed immediately after where the sensors are near the fuse boxes

stops you from destroying you engine when you end up submerging the intake in water.

    p.s.

    thanks vibe for the pics

its supposed to allow your engine to suck air from that bypass filter when the tip of the cai with the filter is completely submerged in water (hydrolock).

i didn't have this bypass valve installed at first but there are a lot of flash floods here during spring and fall season so i got it installed. I actually stalled one time and the next day, I ordered from AEM.

np, as you can tell, there is welding on the piping closer to the throttle body. I had my bypass valve installed there before. i started getting some bad idle and I realized the extra air coming in through the filter wasn't going through the MAF and I might have been running lean a/f. ever since i switched to the location on that pic, i have had no problems what so ever. However, i think i need to cut the tip of the piping to shorten it because it the filter that EL proto provided it with (6 inch length) doesn't fit with the oem foglight (filter has to be bent). Either I cut or get a shorter filter (trying 5 inch and if it is still forced to bend, 4 inch).
