    Brake lights don't turn off

Ok so my brake lights won't turn off at all unless the battery or fuse is taken off so my brother in law said it's the brake switch but I can't seem to find it in my 99 corolla so any help would be great. Thanks ahead of time because I know you guys are good lol

First check the pedal. This happened to my girlfriends car, and when I lifted the pedal the brake lights would turn off. There is a switch under the pedal that is held in by a nut, so I loosened the nut and adjusted the sensor, and then tightened it back into place. Never had the problem again.

Do the brake lights turn on with the parking light, or all the time? Check your bulbs and make sure that they are not melted funny...

There is also a rubber type of cushion that makes contacts with the switch to turn the lights off.

Its either the switch going bad, the rubber cushion fell or brake or lights gone bad.

To see the brake switch you will have to get under the dash and see ( use a flashlight) look for where the brake pedal come to a stop ( not press) and it would be in that area

Scanned Info from Repail Manual 2 Files: one is the switch location the other a switch test
