    bore?

    I was just wondering. how much more power would I get if I bored my 1.8 to a 2.0? and would there be any problems?

    Not enough to justify the cost - turbo it! ;)

    indeed, if youre going to bore to 82mm then you need to just drop the comp and turbo it. going N/A would be okay, but you're going to hit road blocks with the higher comp.

    I have no idea how much power you can get out of a n/a 1zz..but I'm guessing you're making ~155hp / 150tq. Am I close? This is assuming what you listed in your post is what you have in your car..I dunno..

    Sounds pretty reasonable to me - that is what MWR is advertising (+10-15% gain) for typical gains on a 82mm bore (hair under 2.0L).

    You would have more horsepower/torque than someone who just boosted without boreing the engine.

    Both would be ideal! :) More space = More Air = More Fuel = More Zoom! I beleive that is the formula. If you got the money that is the way to go for sure. But if its one way or the other then go boost, I just turbo'ed my Corolla and my car is scary fast now and I'm only at 8psi of boost. Its nuts. And if you have a small turbo the power band kicks right on and hard.

    well first of all I was thinkin s/c, but I just dont wanna wait for no adapter kit. So then I was thinkin turbo, i know hass has that kit. Then I was thinkin what if I went 2.0 then turbo.:D . I'm gonna be comin up on some money next year for the kit. So this year im gonna work on the engine. So im makin some plans.here in jax everybodies boosted. It sucks..

    the hass kit is good for 03+ corollas

    it advertises 266 whp on 8psi with intercooler on a stock 1zz.

    noice, but it's 4 grand -_____-;;
