    Blown Motor

Can someone tell me how my connecting rod bearings failed and caused severe engine damage. Here is what my motor has broken, Two connecting rods, all piston rings on all pistons leak oil in combustion chamber, all valves are bent and head is warped big time crank is severly ruined. Now all it does is the crank turns and no compression at all, Also the Timing chain is in pieces. What do you think? It only had 54K miles on it. By the way the car had overheated on me once due to a faulty hose could that be in any way affect it too. Warranty was voided after i started doing mods and the dealer cancelled my warranty at 36K miles.

The list of causes is pretty damn long... everything from over rev to oil sludge to combinations with overheating... gotta give some more details as to what kinda things occured in the 100 miles leading up to the death.

Okay when facing the front of the car the right side of the engine had a severe amount of sludge for some odd reason. The dealer even wondered why it had so much. The overrevving it never did but only once when my mom was driving. She said she was doing about 90 MPH when she accidentally lowered the gear and the car hit past the eight mark. Ever since she did that it started drinking up oil to a point that I had to add anywhere from 1qt to 2qts per week! The second time it gave out the connecting rod broke then all hell broke loose and I just noticed all my lights turn on and the car stopped and the "Check Engine" was flashing like crazy. Get this my torque converter even gave out and was seriously damaged internally. Need more info let me know. I can give you the list of crap i did to the motor I think I invested more in my motor than in my girlfriend :D

You think thats bad I was rearended about two days before it gave out no major damage just a scratched up bumper and the Mercury Grand Marquis That hit me had more damage than my car. his bumper got pushed in and this left headlight came loose. The kid was 16 yrs old. So i just charged him 200 bucks then he left. I later found out it was my dads friends son. That was funny but i later regretted it as my neck hurt like hell later that day.

Because I have already gone through two motors and now going on to my third one. i just got an e-mail from Phoenix Tuning and now considering throwing a 3S-GTE more than likely to be a second gen (200hp). i want to call my friends cousin to see if he can get a (3rd gen those were not brought to the U.S. and produce about 260hp stock) He lives in Houston and gets ahold of JDM engines(the only thing is getting in touch with him is pretty hard). Really, really I want to throw in a 3.5 V6 DOHC, Dual VVT-I 3MZ-FE (280hp/260tq stock) from the new AVALON but that pushing it too much but who knows anythings possible with determinaton and money. Right? I'd like to think so. Plus I am not going to pay $3,873 dollars (dealer cost, can't seem to come across one he locally) to put in a brand new 1zzfe. So far I have spent about 3grand into both of those engines.By the way aren't you on toyrolla also.

Okay. I just got back from the DMV to see what I can't do to my engine. They told me this the engine has to be a 2000 model year engine till right now and has to have at least 1 catalytic converter and be able to pass the Vehicle Modifications Inspection. All it is that is it has to have a working radiator, intake and things like that and strong motor mounts. So screw the 3S-GTE. I have to start searching for my own current engine,or the following 2ZZGE,or just what I really want from toyota's flagship.

300-500 bucks thats a bargain. Only if I could find one. The cheapest i have found was 750 with 49K miles.

well a new avalon engine would be crazy. something about putting a 3.5 L V6 into a corolla doesnt seem right. Only other 4 cylinder 2000+ toyota engine I can think of thats not been mentioned is the 2AZ-FE 2.4L from the Solara and TC.

Personally i wouldn't care if i had another corolla. If anything Having my third one would be great. Especially an 01-02 body style. just the way it is, Basic nothing on it except for MPH,Tach, Fuel, Cooling, and a cd/mp3 or mp4 player thats it oh and A/C. oh and stantard so I can screw around in it and terrorize the car.So pretty much i would strip it comepletely and cut out what ever i can salvage. But right now my focus is getting a new engine. unless I just fix my Volvo and drive the Oh so Faithful, hehe, RWD,2.3 B230f engine and voila' burnouts and 360' and everything else.Man I love that car. Also has a full direct port injection and CAI, and full 2 3/4 exhaust. Only problem are two things the water pump 26 bucks, okay so its nothing, the other is the dual fuel pumps each cost over 200 bucks a piece!

Prefer Turbo, in my opinion easier to work with.

Seen those but they look ugly, something about them just don't look right. slanted way to rearward. Plus after test driving, the balance of the body and weight distribution feels awkward and unstable. Possible torque steer. I hate torque steer on a vehicle that does not have a limited slip differential. My 01 S has that and it was worth every cent.

    Quaife'

    Quaife'

The mehcanic that fixed it up the first time did all the work. Ever since then The car has been pulling with both wheels at all times. When it was working of course. Now its just sittin' there. The only drawback was the torque steer which occured when I was the only person in the car.

Finally go the pics up or one for that matter.
