So here is the SA 5th Gen 'rolla motor. the 20v
The body look similar to mine.
These two body shapes were the only two with the 20valve enjin. Blacktop ans Silvertop.
    Enjoy the info ,)

    http://www.corollaae92gts.nl/blacktop_eng.htm

The name 'Blacktop' is given to the 5th generation 4A-GE engines.

The 'Blacktop' 4A-GE are a further development of the 'Silvertop' 4A-GE motor. The Silvertop was the first 4A-GE with 5 valves per cylinder. But Toyota felt that they could do more with that engine, so they took another look at it, what resulted in the Blacktop 4A-GE 20V.

    BlacktopMichel.jpg

As you can see in the picture above, the Blacktop gets its name from its black valvecovers with the black plate in between, so the entire top of the engine is black.

The main differences with the Silvertop 20V engines are: The blacktop is MAP controlled, has lighter internals and bigger intakes. The Blacktop aslo has a more advanced VVT system. Both 20V engines have ITB's.
The Blacktop was mainly installed in the Japanese AE111 Corolla FX
(The E11 is produced from 1997 until 2001).

Here are the specifications for the 4A-GE 20V Blacktop engine:

Yip, and that is why these are the best motors built.

Other points to note is that the motor had a larger and deeper oil pickup, like a 2nd sump.
On the inside they have a red honeycomb design in the dash/dail display and revs to 9K rpm.

as does the silvertops, in the 2nd revision. and also, i would like to note that yes the blacktop could rev to 9k easily except for the fact its oil pump, like the previous generation 4ags and our zz family pumps, are quite weak and known to fail past 8500 rpm. i know it just 500 rpm difference, but 500 rpm in this case can mean the difference between a running engine and looking for a new one to import. i have pretty extensive work with 4ag's of all generations, including tuning a friends old 20v mk1 mr2 on megasquirt. fun as fuck engines. with the vvt system they have a quite flat torque curve for a 1.6l. and not to mention that sound, dear god that sweet induction sound. that alone will give me wood. lol

Not only is there no visor on the back window, but having visors that huge kinda defeats the point of having a window lol.

Not to mention, it creates a huge blind spot. It took me a while to get used to having the visor on the window next to me.
