    Better gas mileage

Going to work in my last car (manual transmission), I always pop the car in neutral on a long downhill descent (aprox 25 miles) and I easily maintain an average of 60 mph. I do it to get better fuel mileage. Now I have an automatic transmission but I'm not sure if it's correct to continue with this practice.

Will I damage my automatic transmission?

Don't know if I'd do that with an automatic tranny... however, they said that as long as you make sure your tires are properly inflated, change the oil every 3000 miles... all that preventative maintenance stuff... you'll actually get better mileage on your car. Also, a fuel injector cleaner every once in a while will help out... I get more miles when I put it in and its only a few dollars per bottle... and you only have to do it like 2-4 times a year... depending on the type that you bought.

Someone told me that you should never put it into "N" with autotragic when the car is moving. In "N", there is no fluid go into the torque convertor and you will burn the torque convertor eventaully.
