Benefit in keeping stock exhaust piping

Are there any benefits in keeping the stock exhaust piping of 1 7/8" if I am going turbo? (except cost). Will it be a bottleneck for the system?

It will be a bottleneck, best bet if you are going with Forced Induction is 2.5" if its low PSI (like 5 or so), or 3" if you are going to be running like in the 7~11 PSI range...

it's a great way to let the backpressure to hold your wastegate shut for boost spikes.

    2.5" then. Thanks

How far away from the turbine should I "re-introduce" the WG discharge into the exhaust flow?

OK, let me get this clear.

    1. Don't re-introduce the WG discharge into the exhaust flow. Just dump it into the atmosphere thru a dump tube. Won't this be pretty loud?

    2. Go all the way 3" instead of 2.5". I only have a T3 and the turbine outlet is 2.5".
