sounds like your stereo is eating up too much juice. i dont know what your setup is like but consider a better battery or better yet, a separate battery for your sound system.

low power from the alt or low power in the electrical's my guess is your lights are also dimming pretty low and your tach needle is lowering in rpm's witch means your taking too much power and you will kill your alt.

battery light coming on when bass hits

I just installed my subwoofer system and when the bass hits really hard sometimes the battery light (which I didn't even know existed) comes on for a split second. Does anyone know exactly what this light is for and what causes it to come on?

Get an Optima Yellowtop battery and find a bigger alternator.

    What size fuse?
And for God's sake: what the hell kind of system do you have? How many amps are you trying to push?

The voltage stayed up at around 14 volts when the light came on so I'm assuming it doesn't depend on voltage. Is it because of current draw?

Dude, you need a second battery or something. That's a metric fuckton of power you're trying to push.
