Many H/Us have a user-definable HPF (High Pass Frequency) that defines how low the signal it feeds to the main speakers will go - which acts just like the passive crossover you're talking about.

Logically speaking, yes you could use a passive crossover to do this, but I haven't seen any inexpensive standalone crossovers for sale, myself.

Personally, I would look around your H/U and see if it has any sort of HPF feature, and maybe look into replacing that before going with some crossover or anything like that.

As far as I know, yup, it will.....though, I don't really know what frequency you'd want the crossover to be hitting.

I heard that a 100Hz Bass Blocker would eliminate the bass from ur 6x9, next they are installed near the 6x9 on the positive speaker wire they look like this:

it's alllll a matter of preference and such; how much you want to use. The ones at Circuit City (on their website at least) are exactly what you need. I wouldn't call 100hz eliminating the bass, myself....I'd check what the crossover on your sub is and come within maybe 20hz of that frequency (between 0 and 20hz lower, not higher, you don't want to lose valuable sound...)
