    Barnacules is back (Corolla Resurrection)

    Hey guys, I have been pretty tuned out of the forum for the last several months because my car has just sit in disrepair. I now finally have a month off work so I am using it to get a ton of project done and one of them is to get the Corolla back on the road and reliable (well as reliable as possible with a turbo). I took a few pictures and a video to get the ball rolling but I will need the support of the forum to make this project a success again. I'm sick of driving my truck so I'm very excited to get this back on the road.

    Already Done
    * Installed Oil Pressure Sender & Guage yesterday

    Pending
    * WideBand O2 (I'm going to pull the down pipe and weld a new bung for it)
    * B&M Oil Cooler
    * Amp, Inverter and CarPC relocation
    * eManage tuning
    * Install Alpine Head Unit (I'm sick of the CarPC being my only source for music)
    * Re-paint interrior trim peices black (I only want the seats red/black)

    If anyone has suggestions, ideas, questions etc go ahead and post them, I'll check this thread daily and update it with new pictures and my progress moving forward. Eventually ending with a video of the car actually driving somewhere :) It's good to be back :D

    Yeah, I will need to do some major work on the inside to get it back looking like new, a lot of the trim is scratched up and faded and the carpets are just nasty. You can never let a car sit :)

    Barnacules added 0 Minutes and 53 Seconds later...

    Micro ITX Motherboard, 1.5gig ram, 200gb hard drive all in a double din case I built from ABS plastic. It connects to a custom 7" touch screen that is fiberglassed in to one of the dash trim peices where two vents and the stereo used to be. I'll post more pictures as I put it back togather.

    You place a piece of fabric slightly bigger than the insert and use a dull knife to shove the edges in until it's tight.

    Glad to hear your car's up and running again. I'm swapping mine to manual as soon as I can find the parts because my transmission isn't liking all the extra HP and TQ I'm throwing at it :(.

    Woah, I hear that is a pretty tuff conversion to do. I look forward to seeing a DIY from you when you do it :) If you have any pointers on installing the Wideband O2 sensor or B&M oil cooler please let me know, I'm going to be installing tomorrow.

    No tips for an oil cooler except to get one with a thermostat on it to make warming the car up faster when cold out. I haven't had any issues with my oil heating up even when holding the pedal down at full boost (18psi). As for the wideband, it's pretty easy to install. I have mine installed a few inches past the primary O2 sensor.

    Vamp, why did you keep the primary O2 sensor? Does your WideBand not have a NarrowBand output? I'm going to get rid of my primary all togather and move the wideband down a little lower to make it more accessible. The car kicked my ass tonight, I only got one bolt off the downpipe because the other bolt is not accessible to me. I am going to buy some special tools tomorrow to help me get it out of there and then take it up to my friends house to weld in some new bungs.

    Because some cars don't work too well with emulated 5 volt narrowband output. You can try and see if it runs with yours though. I think the PLX M-300 works well there, but I already had a second bung welded on. I may put a switch in so that I can switch between the two and use it as backup.

    Yeah, I'm taking the old o2 out of the system since it is very hard to access and there is an exhaust leak there because I snapped off one of the bolts a long time ago :) I am going to weld on a new o2 bung and be done with it :)
