    bai bai corolla

well, sadly but true, i was in a car accident the other day and totaled my corolla. I was getting on the on-ramp to the highway when the truck in front of me put their brakes on and i wasnt paying attention to the front at the time because i was making sure there were no cars i was going to hit when i did get on the freeway. well when i looked forward and saw the brake lights on, i put my brakes on too which made my car slide (it was raining slightly) and then my car spun and a semi truck hit me. i am ok for now. i went to the chiropractor today to get myself checked up and seems i have a case of whiplash and bruises. nothing major... which i have be very blessed about. anyway, now i have to search for a new car. this is my 2nd corolla i've totaled. unless i find a well priced good condition AE86, i may not go back to a corolla and consider a yaris, versa, or fit. oh well i just thought i'd share the new..

btw, what made things worse is this happened on the day when friends were out of state were visiting and it happened on my bday.. what a way to spend your birthday eh?

yeah the same car. its gonna be totaled 90% sure. so i'm sure it will end up in the junkyard. <br />

its tough to find a good condition 86. but i did come across a nice 2.5RS GC8 today. this was the car i wanted before the corolla. the only reason i bought the corolla was because it looked like it in a way.. and me being broke, i think this is about as much as i can afford right now.. so i may not go back to a corolla.. but who knows..

you can get the same ecu. a friend of mine knows some guy in sanfransisco area where he flashes the ECU does simple changes. of course toyota ECU's are extrememly hard to reprogram as you may have heard the rumors but yeah.. its fun. oh yah, you cant really tell the difference if you have an auto. you need manual. why is that? i dont know.. oh well.

you need a manual because unless he reflashed the auto tranny control portion (even harder to do) you wont be able to wind your motor up that high before shifting. there's a way to do it mechanically with an auto, but thats not the most reliable method. you have to move the mounting point of the throttle cable on its mount, to change the angles and effective distance from the throttle.

lmk if your car is junked, i'd love to go in there and get myself your ecu :)

also just read that it happened on your bday, sorry man :( but happy bday! :)
