average cost of turbo kit installation

whats up everyone. I planning on buying a the TSI turbo kit from turbo-kits.com next Feb. but i was wondering whats the average price of getting it installed in a shop. The reason im waiting till next Feburary to get it is because right now im stuck in crappy Iraq and figure ill need a pretty good welcome home treat to myself. There kit seems to be the best prefab on the market that ive seen so far and the only other option i know is stafford which ive only heard bad things about. By the way i have a 98 corolla with bodykit rims and crap but its slow as heck and i love it to much to sell it to get a faster car.

well that price isnt to bad i was expecting more than that. But damn is it anyone who makes a damn legitimate kit for this car. everytime i think i find something it goes to shit. I had started researching earlier last year and was putting a custom kit together. i had gotten a new t25 turbo which i figured was more suitable for the type of daily driving i do and a awesome front mount intercooler. But then i got damn deployed and about $600 dollars worth of parts are now sitting in the closet. But no sweat if i could only find a complete kit i could sell those parts and get it. I heard stafford sucks and i thought these people were going to be better. Is there anywhere else.

Hey guys I thought I would put in my 2 cents and recommend if you are considering turbocharging your car get it done CUSTOM. I almost purchased one of the prefab kits and I am glad I didn't. Seems like more problems than they are worth (although I did get screwed by EL prototypes for a 20 valve engine). But with a custom set up do the homework and you can get some junk yard parts depending on what type of set up you want. The only real problem is the turbo manifold getting that might be tricky. Everything else is fairly easy. Customized downpipe my cost $ 150. Manifold from jsg - $250. from www.jgstools.com/turbo. Turbo T3/T4 - $ 350. Mandrel piping & customization - $55. Intercooler - bought used off ebay for $55, welding of new end caps - $95. Installation $ 1200 inclusive of all required electronics - boost controller, Fuel system, turbo timer etc add about another $750 . I would say roughly about $3,000 total. Just an estimate give or take an extra $100. Check out the end result

I am working with Elite-Autosport right now to try and get them to make a kit for my car. For a little more investment on my part, the said they can put together a kit for resale. If there is interest, the kit would be ready for sale before the end of the year, would include a 2.5" Mandrel bent exhaust, pretuned Emanage, Tiel wastegate, injectors, fuel pump, etc. and would be about $4K. The average cost to have a shop install this kit would be around $800.
