    Automatic or Manual

What the heck? I travel to all these other countries and most small-mid sized cars are manual transmission. I even saw 5 speed camry's in Germany!! People I know in Europe and in Asia drive 5 speeds! I can understand why a big big car is automatic (and there are several reasons)... but why here? Automatic is standard??

    is the USA just lazy?

so who here drives a manual 5speed?

one more thing, i'm not implying that because you drive an automatic that you're lazy... if you drive an automatic and that's what you're stuck with... it's cool... still vote automatic.

i'm just saying that the automatic seems to be the USA's standard transmission... NOT 5 speed

Your right about one thing Americans are lazy, my corolla is automatic and drove her for 4 yrs like that till I need a new car that was more practical a 02 Sentra and this car is a manual.

DrunkSaru traffic may be a pain but once you get used to a manual you really dont notice it.

automatic in traffic with a knee that likes to lock up from time to time = win
manual in fun car = win

this is where it's great to have two vehicles. ;)

Manual is more fun and controllable to your liking but traffic does get very bad and it's only going to get worse. I would get a manual but I know the traffic is going to drive me crazy.

right now i got a manual tranny, but drove automatic for over 8 years, and i gotta say, reverse auto is a blessing, manuvering on first gear on an automatic in a crowded parking lot is a blessing, but going in the city and on the highways manual really takes the prize.
