    Arrrgggg.... 375 dollars!!!

Well, so i made a topic in engine the other day bout my exhaust leak or so i thought it was. Turns out, its the damn alternator. The way the noise started it couldnt be the exhaust. But i was driving today, and my battery light came on. I got brand new optima yellow top, so its not that. My alternator went out, and i need the 3 belts replaced. Its 375 dollars to fix it all with taxes and labor. Hopefully parents wont make me pay them back or part of it, LoL.

Dude!!! A new alternator is 125 bucks, and its a 20 minute install!!!

Also, get the battery checked out...if the alternator has been bad for a while, it can cause the battery to go bad as well.

Why do you need a high end alternator?

And ask how many labor hours they are going to charge.

yeah, its fairly easy to do yourself ( i had a friend help me) took us about 30-40 minutes- maybe longer (we were making mistakes) but its def do-able.. a rebuilt one cost me 80 bucks AFTER core charge, which totalled to 180...

Alright, it came to $298.35. I got charged 1 hour of labor. The belts and alternator together cost like 250 or something like that.

Yeah, it is bit high. But this guy guarentee's his work and i know several people he has done work for and did excellent job. 1 person had slight problem that he didnt have to fix, but he did it for free anyways.

damn i would have done it myself

btw did you put all the stuff in your sig on your car yourself or did you pay someone to do it? cuz if you paid then you could of had double the mods w/ the money spent on installation $$

I have done all mods myself except the exhaust installation, cause i cant weld, but i did pick out all the parts.

The reason i had it put on is cause i was on my way home, light came on, took to shop asap, parents said to have it fixed and they would pay for it.
