Are the intakes on Ebay universal, or specific to the 7afe or 4afe?

Most of them say they are for the 1.8 liter corolla engine, but I didn't think the 4afe and 7afe were all that different. I care because the only intake on ebay that is labelled for the 1.6L engine is $34, instead of $16 like the ones for the 1.8 liter engine. So are they interchangeable?

dont worry-i bought a 1.8L version for my 1.6L engine-they are pretty much the same-all you need to do is 1. plug up the tube protruding (unless it comes w/ a cap) 2. grab the old rubber grommet from the old filter box that goes right into the hole for the Intake Air Temp sensor-thats it-itll fit in nice and snug... [IMG] just ignore the coupling and the pvc-the cone filter sits right on the end...

    i think home-brewed sounds better-although i like jimmy rigged-"ghetto" rigged goes a little too far! :D

and as far as you (96rolla) NOT having an intake sensor, thats just very odd-thats not very normal-

there isn't an O2 sensor in your intake. that's for your exhaust system. the only sensor i had in my intake on my 96 4A-FE was the temp sensor, and it's the same with my 97 7A-FE. oh...and the PCV valve is on the valve cover....the hose from that to the intake manifold connects after the throttle body.

the temp sensor is what plugs into the stock air box. and the intake i bought had only that hole on it. now i have my custom CAI (not cia) and i hadda drill a hole for the temp sensore in the intake tube i used....it's offa honda or somethin like that.

is it part of the MAP sensor? or perhaps it's the other hose of the PCV valve system...vacuum type stuff.

my dad thought that mine was sposed to be one hose on each side of the throttle body, but on my car they're both on the same side. one has the PCV valve in it, and the other is just a hose. it's to keep oil from getting into the intake manifold. i think....

your right happyface, they are both on the same side, and there is no need for the hose that comes w/ the intake-which is very wierd..
