Anyone work for Toyota? Door Lock Issue

I’m having some random issues with my door locks in my 99 corolla. The drivers door lock works at time, normally only pulls half way down. The passenger’s door failed completely. I spoke to Toyota in my area to see what the actuator would cost and they said the entire doors electronics would have to be replaced at a cost of $200+ a door.

Now, I have been a custom installer for years and have rebuilt many cars from top to bottom and never heard this. I have had the doors off and I see no obstructions for the locks and power is getting to the motors. So this would seem to need new actuators. I wanted to use factory actuators cause of the changes I have made to the doors. But at $200+ a piece I will be forced to make some changes.

Unfortunately one of the local dealerships is known for price gouging so I wanted to check here to see if anyone knows different.

Did Toyota integrate the lock mechanism into the harness?
Anyone have an electrical diagram for this?

An info you can provide will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try running a bigger guage power wire to the locks. 10 guage is perfect. Also try replacing the relays - should be one for lock and one for unlock. I'm having the same problem and Toyota is supposed to fix it under warranty. I haven't had time to mess with it, or I would have already done it instead of waiting for the parts to come in. They say it's the actuators also, but I think they'd rather treat the symptoms than the problem. Also, get bigger guage battery cables and make a better body ground. I can't believe those little rinky-dinky threads they put on at the factory!

Replacing the wiring is not going to change that the lock isnt working when I tested and the actuator is getting power. I also tested the relays and they are working fine as well.

Also, changing the battery cable and the ground wires are not going to resolve a door lock issue.

What kind of crack are you using?

BTW... I upgraded the under hood power and grounds to 0 gauge a few years back so that is not the issue.
