Yeah, that does seem a bit low. On mine, there's only a 1/2" gap between the bottom of the bumper and the top of tip. Mine might be a bad example to use though, since I have aftermarket piping (custom cat-back) that could be affecting how mine sits.

I'm having the opposite problem...it sits too high. It even melted the bumper. I tried to work on the problem, but I can't seem to fix it. I hear it hitting/vibrating off of something when the engine's on. Yet the only place it's actually touching the car is the hanger. I shoved a piece of cardboard there and it worked for a week before the cardboard disappeared b/c the exhaust moves around when I drive. It's driving me nuts along w/ my vigorously vibrating steering wheel.

Try pushing/bending the exhaust piping up to make force the tip to point down more (using the hangar as the pivoting point) and pulling/bending the exhaust piping down to make force the tip to point up.

hmmmmmm...i think the only way it'll sit too low is if your exhaust tip is bent too low. The second problem it can be is if the piping where u connect the exhaust piping is too high. A simple observation will remedy your problem.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. That's why I think he should try to pull or bend down the piping. That would fix it. Maybe see if Meineke will repair it for free since they didn't install it correctly.

Like Vamp said, you might just have to bend the pipe before the tip to get the effect you want. It shouldn't be too low unless Mineike bent it by accident when they installed it, and it shouldn't be too hard to fix. If you have a body kit other than the TRD lip kit you might experience it rubbing the bumper but if not that sounds very strange since it was made to sit under the kit. You could try some insulating material to stop the melting and the tapping. This isn't a great picture but this is where my tip sits and i ahve no problems with it at all.

Not neccessarily the pipe where the tip is connected, but the pipe where the muffler is connected to may be too high, forcing the back end the of the muffler to sit too low. Think of the hangar as the pivoting point.

maybe he used aftermarket hangers or your hanger is damaged or something? because if you use the stock rubber hanger, it shouldnt come down that low. mine is about a 1 inch gap to the bumper.

no that was my bad. Vamp is right, and so are you, you're not going to be able to bend the pipe right behind the tip but you could check your hangar and see what they did there. They may have broken your original hangar off (since it was meineke and they probably didnt wanna struggle with the pain of getting it off the right way) and replaced it with a longer one they had lying around.

I took it back to them and they re fit it and they said its how the piping is done on the muffler.

So wat u guys are saying is to go outside and grab the tip and just pull up on the tip hoping it will bend up?

Wouldn't that loosen the muffler?
And as far as i remember this thing is steal. U can't bend steal wit ur own hands.....
