Anyone know who can do a V-6 swap?

I am looking to install the 3.3 liter and 5 speed automatic into my '04 Corolla.
Does anyone know of a shop that can do this for me?

    Welcome to the forums.

Probably be cheaper to buy a car with the 3.3L six and 5 speed auto - that go with a swap. There are a few guys in the UK that do some crazy swaps - fensport - not to many around here that would be willing to take on that kind of a swap.

To give you an idea of cost - I was quoted a price of $7K to start with a 2ZZ-GE/6 speed swap plus electricals into a 2002 Corolla - and those engines are dimensionally similar.

    Good Luck.

I hope you have about $20 000 burning a hole in your pocket... maybe more, because that will be an expensive and tie consuming swap... just the cost of the V6 and 5 Spd. Automatic will be prohibitive, and I doubt you'll find many in junkyards, since that combo. just came out in the last few years...

yeah, the 3MZ-FE just came out in 03? for teh RX330, and 04 for everything else.

and the 5spd automatic i believe is an 04+ item. so u'l lhafta buy them new, and so it'll cost at least 10k for parts alone. then ya probably gotta stretch the engine bay and all to get the to fit, with the tranny and all. you're looking at a ton of money. in my opinion, there aren't really any good swaps for the ZZE corollas

the best thing is to build a 1zz-fe block for boost and turbo it... or maybe try to get a 3sgte... i believe the latest ones made 265hp... and a 5 spd with an LSD... would be fun... http://www.fensport.co.uk/fensportcarsmain.htm ... check out that 3sgte powered corolla :) I wonder how well the 2.4 from the camry/scion tc would fit, with the TRD supercharger...it would be a 200hp engine with lots of torque also...

i could see a V6 fitting in the corolla engine bay. Max 3L. But the problem is the intake manifold is to damn long.

    Weight problem?

We believe we have the weight, and the long intake problems solved.
We will use the original factory front springs, which are too long to begin with.
By adding another 100 lbs. to the front end, they should squash down about an inch and a half or so.
This will also make the front end ride a bit better because it won't be so over sprung.

And as for the long intake, It's simple to mount the radiator in front of the cross member and attach the fans in front of the radiator so that they blow through instead of sucking through the radiator.
That little bit of costomization will pick up about 4 inches of added clearance in front of the engine compartment.
And judging by how much more room there is yet before the grill starts, I'd say I could get another three inches on top of that, so the question really is: is there enough room from side to side?
    Can you picture all this?
About 240-250 horse, 260-275 lbs/ft torque all without forced induction, or all the noise associated with a much modified, and overstressed engine.

Should make for a really fast daily driver at 2600 lbs.

    Yeah I can see it.
Now all I have to do is find a burned out '04 0r '05 Solara. heh heh....

If they've put a V6 in a MKIII MR2, i'm sure you could put one into a Corolla. Although the V6 they used on the MR2 was a 1MZ-FE with the 5-Speed tranny.

intake doesnt hang out of the front like the corollas.... the v6 engines have the intake off the top and towards the back, one exhaust manifold hangs off the front. your main concern will be engine width grill to firewall and engine height.

good luck, but do some concrete reasearch first and not speculation like you are currently doing

First off, yes it might be possible to drop in the 2.4L. Now why would you want to do that though?

    A 2.4 and a TRD supercharger......

    A 2.4 and a TRD supercharger would make what? .... 200+ hp, 200+tq....yeah I could see that.
At least that would make the Corolla equal to the Nissan Sentra 2.5 S
It's too bad Toyota can't see the value in a very do-able upgrade option that I would gladly stand in line to order the first one.

Add all the optional TRD stuff right at the dealership to the 9th Gen car....hey I can dream can't I?

Who else want's Toyota to do a Sentra 2.5 S transformation?

im not a fan of the sentra styling at all, and the interios feel cheaper than the corollas, i'd rather get a car that feels more solid and has a higher quality feel, even if it is a little slower...

What is it with people and the 2AZ-FE? It ain't no performance engine. If you're going to swap in a 2AZ-FE, you might as well spend the money to swap in a 3S-GTE or a 3S-GE. You can get a 180HP 3S-GE for $500.
