go to www.corolla-racing.com and get ahold of racer25 (please, PM him)... he's been busy lately, so it might take him a few days to get back at you... but you'll be better off if you PM him

also, make sure the ecu is from the same year and for the same motor... someone else on the board is having problems because they sent him an ecu (which he did) and later found out it was for the wrong year... and is asking for shawn to pay him back....

EL Prototypes has a reprogrammed ECU for around $1500-$1700... call them only if you are serious about buying it... they were boasting some good things about it when I was talking to them.

EL Prototypes kind of pisses me off. I do not like them or the way they conduct business.

1500 bucks for a reprogrammed ECU is ridiculous. They overcharge on all their products and are very un professional.

I agree w/ the amount for that ECU...it better put up like some major time/shift changes 2 make a huge huge difference...I highly doubt it though....i mean i paid $250 for a supposed 2 be close to 4 mm bored tb and I got a 2.75 mm bore! And they still owe me $250 for my core charge return! They have owed me since like last August! He supposedly has tried to mail me a money order for the refund...but said it got lost in the mail and now he wantz me 2 drive down and pick it up...but I have yet been able to get ahold of anybody for like the past month or so...I told him to mail it again cuz I aint drivin all the way out there when itz their mistake.

I am not attempting to cause a stir. But when asked about E.L. Prototypes about a week ago you said they were trustworthy yet they owe you money from last August. Been there done that. I have no problem in ratting out any company that does not do business professionally. And I have no problem giving my experiences when posed the question. This info could help other enthusiats down the road. Just my opinion. Here is my original response from the subject does E.L. Prototypes still exist.

Regarding E.L. Prototypes beware!!! I ordered a customized motor from them in April of 2002. I paid the required 50% down payment. Could not deliver the motor (it was already August 2002) and then tried to get me to buy some other motor, more money and more of a down payment required. Well I didn't get the motor and requested a refund. They agreed to a refund but they didn't refund my money until almost July of 2003. He paid me in installments, I am glad I was able to get my money but this put a serious crimp in my car budget since I really didn't want to invest any more money in my car until i got my 2 G's back. As A result I had to have my car sit out most of 2003. Put my project behind one whole year. Just a little bit of info for those who want to deal with E.L. Prototypes. A word to the wise.
