Anyone have HID installed??

    Anyone have HID installed??

    Hi all~

    I just got my hid kit, but i can seems to find the best place to mount my ballast~

    anyone of you that have hid installed, please give me som suggestion on mouting hid ballast~

    I mounted mine right underneath my headlights with UV-protected heavy duty zip ties. Are they sealed ballasts? If not you should cover them before you put them on.

    Mine is mounted up under the fender. That way nothing will be touching it and it also provides good water protection. :cool:

    You're gonna regret that one day when you hit a bump and the ballast bounces and suddenly...no lights! :D

    mount riht under the head light? do you have pix?
    i'm not sure if it's sealed, but the ballast is philips~ hope that helps~

    as for mount under the fender, it sounds really good idea man!..but guess you need to take off bumper first right??

    It's under the lip of the fender that is accesible in the engine bay. I think that kinda explains it. I'll get some pics of it tomorrow :cool:

    mm, its hard to take pics of since you need to remove the bumper and the headlights to get to them.

    but basically - if you take the bumper cover off, then remove the headlights, there's A LOT of room on the frame you can mount them on. you'll see what i'm talking about if you remove your bumper cover.

    mine is just laying under the headlight, no bolts or anything, been 1.5 years now and still working...*knocks on wood*

    I just used 2 long zip ties to hold mine in place under the headlight.

    hey guys~

    i just install it today, and i put the ballast under the head light too~
    that's a place design for the ballast..:D

    turn our great!! thanks for all the help~

    by the way~~ just want to point out that...In canadian corolla, the wire for the DRL is same color RED wire with Blue Stripe, but it's not Pin #23, instead it is PIN #2~
    i have to check the hayness manual to double check~~
