    anybody thinking of electric cars?

Now regular gas here has bounced up to 2.25 a gallon.. and I think the prius is a pretty good 1/2 way type vehicle.. but has anybody thought about going completely electric?

I found this sweet car (prototype) http://acpropulsion.com/tzero_pages/tzero_home.htm :pant:

it wouldn't be reasonable in a lot of areas...and they're still WAY too expensive.

drop the price to around $25k and i could see it as affordable.

a couple years ago I studied the cost of owning a hybrid vs a regular corolla and tried to see how high gas prices had to go before it was cheaper to operate a hybrid. for the prius, it ended up ~$2.60 a gallon we're still not there yet, but it's getting very close, never thought it would happen.
(Hybrids are more expensive because of the battery replacement cost) all my numbers were based on the batteries lasting 100K miles.

i would take a SMART car, you know, those little ones, the two seaters. i think they look cool. they aren't electric, but they have like a motorcycle engine and get maybe 40+ mpg city, not bad. top speed = 88
they also have supercharged ones that kinda look like honda2000s, not bad

My city recently purchased a Toyota Prius and put it on the front page of my city's newspaper (just to show you how much of a small suburbian town it is)....anyways, they showed the interior and its performance ratings, i cant remember them but i know that the performance on it was awesome in terms of gas mileage (which they needed anyways, cuz they would use that car to travel to Downtown Tulsa's City Hall which is about a 30 minute drive....they showed the interior of it and i was like, dang, that doesnt look too bad....looks like some pimp my ride sh*t cuz of the screen in the dash....

They'll go down sooner or later, just like everything else. The price to build them will decrease, so they can still have a good amount of profit from them and be able to lower the price some. Theyre going to have to in order for them to take off.
