Anybody know how to change the passenger side outer tie-rod on a 98 corolla?

    Anybody know how to change the passenger side outer tie-rod on a 98 corolla?

    just like the title says....

    honestly... its not hard to do... however, your alignment will be done for. its best to take this to a dealership and get the alignment done right after. otherwise, you'll be replacing tires quite a lot. :)

    if you still want to do it...

    unbolt the tie rod from the steering knuckle (castle nut) --- its obvious which one to remove once you look at how your car is steered and what moves when you turn your wheel. Once that is removed, locate the end of the tie rod (screwed into the steering rack) and unscrew it out.

    ... done ...

    thanks....a goodyear shop gave me the estimate of $1200 for changing fronts struts, strut mounts, FR outer tie-rod.......I think its a rip off....

    do the struts yourself... thats cake. the tie rod, i think that cost me a couple hundred @ toyota to have done... lol

    the tie rod cost me $23 at O'Reily's
