actual engine work, i haven't done much.... i tend to buy the engine that gets the job done on it's own & swap it in :)

the corolla has a smallport 4age (stock longblock.... 10.3:1 CR, stock valve train, stock 42mm rods, stock forged crank....) however it has some bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust).... running on a modified 4afe ecu (revs to 7800, and keeps the 4age running map based! ecu will be for sale soon as it's getting replaced by my new MSII kit)

the mr2 has a smallport 4agze (stock longblock as well.... 8.9:1 forged/ceramic coated pistons, stock valvetrain, stock rods/forged crank ..... yadda yadda yadda..... it has a couple bolt ons, but it has the stock supercharger pulleys (10psi), & the car has some bolt ons as well, along with it already running on an MSI ecu (pcb 2.2 firmware).

both motors are pretty well built. only thing i plan to change internally is possibly a thinner HG on the corolla's 4age, add the ITB's (back on) when i go with the MS ecu, and also throw some bigport cams in (slightly larger than the smallport cams). Porting 4age's is pretty much useless, so that won't happen. I might check the rings when the motor is apart, though.

Now, on other cars i've done internal work. I've helped build a very strong 4age (which was getting built for Turbo, but the shortblock got sold before it got a head)... It had eagle rods & carilla (i think?) pistons, then a fully balanced lowerend (the owner was expecting 300+whp). Also, unfortunately, in the middle of rebuilding a Beretta 2.3 dohc (it's an Oldsmobile motor.....). & i've torn several motors down as well. The mr2's old bigport, the corolla's old 4afe, the beretta's motor, and soon another mr2 owners 5sfe.

Damn that site is selling the TSI Extreme kit for the 00-02 corolla, the same kit that did not fit on my car at all that I'm currently working with TSI to correct. I hope they dont sell any of those gen 1 kits or there customers are going to be pissed.
