Not download - BUY! I just ordered Digimoto (digimoto.com - our cars are ISO interface, for the record). Anyhow, should be getting it in a few days.

I am going to go out on a limb here. Probably not.
In the everday market of computer software (john q public who needs a word processor etc) there are millions of people who need it, and millions of people who buy it, keeping the price RELATIVELY low.
However when you need speciality software, there arent a whole lot of buyers. For example some software that we use here in the lab runs $7,000. And it's crap. But that's what there is, and thats what you have to buy. There just isnt enough people interrested i n it, or enough money flowing to put out a new version every now and then.
So if you are going to get some speciality software, buy it. Sure it will cost you a bit, but it's worth it having your own copy, and supporting the industry. If everyone just keep pirating software that isnt very public or mainstream, price is going to go up.
For mainstream software, I have a very different philosophy, based on the companies' own method of marketing and pricing, so thats a different story.

    hell $100 is nothing.
you should see some of the software that we have to use here for some of the machines (physical chemistry lab). you would think some monkey on acid wrote designed the GUI ... and options

The software wasn't that expensive - $30. The hardward interface to connect the computer to the car's OBD-II port was. It is $70 - and that IS something you'd have to buy.
