    Any musicians in the house?

I will try to learn how to play an acoustic guitar over the summer. Does anyone know good easy-to-learn books, websites, dvd tutorials, etc.?

I suggest you learn how to read sheet music before picking up a guitar. I'm planning on learning how to play the guitar as well. I have a used one, but one of the strings are broken. Reading sheet music is no problem for me since I played the piano for 6 years previously. LOL :D

I'm a professional guitar and bass (elec and upright) player.

Toured with some renowned players and acts, and am studying for a jazz studies degree. I also work at a music store.

The Ernie Ball Phase One Guitar Method, and Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book I are the two books we teach out of at the store. They're really effective in the understanding of the instrument with chords as well as theory. The Hal Leonard Method Book comes with a dvd as well. Hope this helps.
