mine does that sometimes....it only happens in first gear. i have a different clutch, tho....stock flywheel. i think that my clutch disc or the pressure plate is damaged...i grind into second and third most of the time, as well....especially if i'm quick shifting.

    Any ideas?

Hi: I'm kind of new on here, but I have a problem w/ my clutch/transmission. 1st gear and reverse will stick when the clutch would be pushed in. It feels like all the fluid is not holding. I asked the mechanic I usually go to, and he told me to get a new slave cylinder. I bought one and replaced it and bleeded it all over, but the problem still occurs. I went back to him today and he told me my transmission is going bad. I was wondering if maybe the master cylinder may be going bad, but he never mentioned it. What could be the problem? Thanks

it shouldn't be too tough... the most annoying thing will probably be refilling the trans.... dear god, that took me like 30 minutes.....

sounds like your presure plate. but i am no mechanic. i have had some trade in cars have this problem and have asked the honda tech people and they will say it could be the clutch but more than likely the pressure plate

I just got my clutch replaced last year, about this time and had the flywheel re-grinded. I'm hoping to god its the master cylinder, I have no money for a new trans. Thanks for the replys

your master cylinder is for the brakes...... the slave is for the clutch

and you dont need a new trans...... sounds like the clutch

Ok got it mixed up. God blessed I just had that replaced last year. I may just try to do it my self this time, instead of spending another $500. I'll see what I can come up w/ all tomorrow

I was looking through the haynes manual, and when I was talking about the master cylinder, I mean the clutch master cylinder. Once the clutch is pushed into the floor its like the fluid is just released and will not hold making the clutch stick. Thats my guess?

I remember this supposedly truck driver where I work rode the truck's clutch pedal like it's the foot rest. When our mechanic removed the clutch, not even the rivets were there.
