answers and advice on my first car

ill start off by saying i have no car knowledge and that im not gonna planning on racing just speeding on the flat texas highways  . My car is a 99 corolla le with a stock 1zz-fe and auto trans it already has enkei (bad spelling?) tires from the previous owner.

i have 2000$ and as far as i see it my two options are a 2zz-ge or a t25 turbo from garrett.

my first question is will a 2zz-ge engine just drop in into my corolla or would i have to do major work? (my brother said he would help me out with minor body work) I am more than willing to get this done but is the engine worth $2000?

Also will i get a equal performace boost from a t25 turbo? i heard that my 1zzfe engine is not strong enough to handle alot of boost (NOT my words all my info is from my friends) i would rather buy a bolt on kit but the cheapest i can find new or used is $2000

im really sorry for the annoying newb questions but would i get a better performance boost from the turbo or a different engine(i wouldnt turbo a 2zz i figure one or the other)
    t
hanks for any replies i wont be doing either until i spend more time researching(ive spent AWHILE goin to corolla website to site) so this thread isnt top priority to any serious threads out there

    ok...that auction scared me a bit(RE: http://vvti.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1932)...

as far as the motor question - that's a HUGE undertaking. no it will not "drop in"...you'd have to manufacture the motor mounts, as well as have a new transmission, ECU, and all wiring harnesses for that motor. if you're looking for a LITTLE boost, go for the turbo. since you say you have no car knowledge, that's the cheaper of the two above options...because the only way you're going to reasonably do the motor swap is if you do it yourself. it can, in fact, be done for a grand or less if you find the right parts and do it by yourself...but i wouldn't recommend it for a novice.

    good luck in your choice.

Turbo, the engine can handle around 300hp in stock internals if Im not mistaken. The tranny is another thing, it can hanlde around 200hp but going over that I dont think the tranny can take it. But yea, turbo it, the 2zz isnt really worth it unless you got the money and skills. But for what you want, go turbo.
