    front bumper

anyone ever try tossing one of those front bumpers on an ae101???? just curious, i like the lip and the stock style of that bumper..... If anyone can find one for me in the PI's i'll pick one up, with lip. Or maybe when i go back i'll pick one up and see. nice ride!

Damn, the filipines get everything!!! that ride's real real sexy. I wonder how a 2001 filipino corolla looks like?

hi! thanks for all the comments!!!

just answering a few of the questions...

sxlostv1: both the 2000 and 2001 'rolla look alike. here it is in stock form...
except for the color, this is what my car looked like when i first got it.

Flipsta20v: actually that lip was custom-fabricated. not too sure if this particular style of bumpers would fit an ae101 but there are quite a lot of ae101's here
that have ae111 tom's bodykits. not the best fit in the world but they fit.

thanks again for all the comments! keep 'em coming! doesn't matter if the comments are positive or negative.

hmm your bumper is very similar to our 98-00 models
    [IMG]

BTW, how much would it cost to get them "FDM" ae111 folding side mirrors?

surplus side mirrors would cost anywhere between $30 to around $80. brand new ones would cost about $120...

sxlostv1: would you be interested in swapping side mirrors? i kinda like the non-retractable usdm mirrors...

would you mind taking a few shots of the mounting holes on your mirrors so i can see if those mirrors would fit into my car's body? i'll do the same and send the pics to you so you can see if my mirrors will fit your car as well. thanks!

where are some good places to find used parts in the PI's my family wants to go back soon so i think i might try and find some parts while im there. We might fly into Manila and then to Cebu. If not directly to Cebu. Thanks in advance.

as what jeprox said, banawe avenue is a good place to start if you're looking for aftermarket stuff. for surplus spare parts and if you're looking for a good set of rims, go to evangelista street. for even more rims and for cheap tyres, go to blumentritt avenue.

if you're ever coming to manila, just let any of the grupotoyota people here know through a thread or something. that's me, voodoo, sting, stat5bot, superae92, mann, and a few others. we'll find a way to hook up with you and help you out when you get here.

just give us about a week's notice so we can work out our skeds... we'll do our best to hook you up. you'll be surprised at how much "small stuff" you can buy in just one day of parts hunting... specially with the dollar-peso conversion rates nowadays.

here i am lined up for my second run at the Auto Rallye Club of the Philippines rally-cross event held yesterday...
lesson #1: don't line up to race if you have to pee real bad! hahahaha!

finally got started on engine tuning and modification. a couple of friends of mine tweaked the valve clearance to give me more top end power, adjusted timing and modified the carb to open up the secondary jet earlier, giving me more acceleration. aslo swapped out the stock plate-type air filter and installed a simota cone filter to let in a little more air and give the engine a slightly meaner sound. exhaust is up next... maybe in a month or so.
