    Another intake question?

    im planning to buy an weapon r intake for my 01 corolla
    the thing is i dont want to use that filter, can i change it to a k&N filter?
    its just that weapon R is the cheapest and injen sucks ad i dont know any K&N intakes that work for our corolla
    do any of you "experts" know if the 57i kit for an 01 corolla fit?

    You can make yourself a decent custom CAI with diy kits. Do a quick search. There was a tutorial on it. All the short hot air intakes are crap. A simple K&N drop in filter works better.

    yah i got the ebay special its ok makes lots of noise its not a good design in the summer however but what ever. or u could get 2 and make a custom cai by cutting the maf sensor off which is what i might do

    to answer your question, yes you can get a K&N universal cone filter for a WR intake.

    Thanks so ill guesse ill buy that since it so cheap

    and i did buy a intake i think a chap cosmo intake from ebay
    and being a noob at ebay i got a 98 intake which didnt include a MAF sensor so practically useless, i didnt know if i could return it or not but that was long ago and it was only 30$

    and i do what to make my own intake its just that i need a place to put the MAF sensor i dont know where to buy those htings

    If you go with spectre (you can buy from auto zone) they have a MAF piece, and they have another one with all the grommets.

    Those aftermarket short ram intakes for the Corolla does absolutely nothing for power increase. It does however increase noise level and improves the look of the engine compartment. Only way to get serious horsepower is to A) spend some big bucks and 2) build the engine internally so you can turbo it.

    Otherwise, all other so called "HP improvements" are just dress up.

    You only gain minimal top end from a short ram. It fails in every other aspect. MPG will fall as well.
