yeah thats normal. with AEM and probably TRD the use a bracket that bolts up next to the fuse box. What your hearing is the pipe viberating on the nut that "holds" the intake tube in place. I normally get it the worst on when I start my car, and at idle on more of a down hill then anything else. Other than that I do not normally get anything. I am going to replce the item that comes in the AEM intake, its not very efficent. I like all nice and quiet myself.

The ticking noise I had also with my AEM CAI. On my '03 it was caused by the EVAP VSV. The stock setup has it secured to the plastic airbox, so you don't hear it as much. With the CAI, that VSV is mounted to the bracket supplied with the CAI. There's no sound insulation since it mounts directly to the frame and you hear it more distinctly. Common thing with aftermarket intakes for this car, but normal nonetheless.

I have a short ram in my 94 and I get a noise that's similar. It usually happens when I'm on the highway decelerating in 5th gear. I figure I'll tighten up the hose clamps on the intake and try to shift it's position some, so it won't rattle against anything. If that doesn't fix the noise, then I don't know what will.
