It'll be nice when we move to the 42V standard (although having a mix of vehicles on the road will make it harder on the electronics manufacturers, and may complicate slave starting vehicles.)

You could get yours rewound-- if you haven't found anything using google then there probably isn't anything out there for you.

    alternating current

Can anyone direct me to a web address that carry a higher amperage alternator for the 93-97 series corolla??? My stock alternator can no longer handle my wimpy a** audio system.

    2- pioneer 12" 500w subs
    pioneer deh-mp 8600 head unit
    punch .5 farad cap
    punch 100.2 amp
punch 250.2 amp (i have to check that again)
    2- pioneer 4way 6.5" rear deck
    2- pioneer 2way 4" rear deck
    2- pioneer 3way 6.5" door

And the fact that I would like to add more like: video, a rear view camera

Dude I don't know why you need a new alternator. You're system is'nt even drawing that much power. What made you conclude you need a new alternator? I am running 2 10" dual voice coils at 500W each RMS and a 1000W mono amp RMS with a 1F cap and mine is fine. My lights doesn't even dim when the bass hits.

This is actually what he needs a capacitor that should take care of youre prob. a 1farad cap is good for a 1000 watts but if youre having that much trouble i would go with a .5farad cap on each amp and also have youre alt tested to make sure its not just going. By the way silver having a cap is why you dont have problems the cap stores energy untill the amp needs it when the bass hit the amps draws high amounts off amps from the electrical system the cap cuts this off and stores the need energy for this there by putting less stress on you're electrical system and battery.
(plus i drive with the high beams on during the day) and u need to do this why just putting more wear on youre eletrical system em try turning them off when not needed and also check for lose battery terminals had that happen to me once.

Oh yeah just a question for you. Has your battery been discharged more than once? If it has, then you got battery problem not holding full charge. See when you have a new battery you are using all the cells to store charge. When it gets discharged for the first time, it cuts the hold charge to half, then it goes I think 2/3 or 1/4 every time. Also check your battery terminal for corrotion. A bad terminal can cause fluctuations in your voltage.

ya i mean to say that. My friends civic was the same, he killed his battery 3 times, plus it was old, and just randomly when he pulled up to a store and was idling his car turned off and the battery couldn't even be jumped anymore....

since when is a 2000 corolla altinator 90 amps? it sure doesn't feel like it....
I have a grounding kit, a 1.2 farad tsunami cap and bout 500rms amp and whenever i pull up to a light at night my guage cluster lights slightly dim wit the bass hitting hard.
Plus thats with a 1 year old enegizer battery.
And anyway getting a more powerful altenator is jsut gonna make ur car slow, it'll take more powre for it to get spinning.
Like people said just get it redone for high amp output
