    alignment question...

I have a 2003 Corolla CE. I've had it since Feb 18, 2003 and have 38,000 miles on it. I've never had an alignment on it. Why? Gas mileage hasn't dropped at all from 35-37mpg around town and still 40-43 on the highway, it holds a perfect straight line and the tires are wearing very evenly - a bit faster than I like, but nonetheless evenly ('m REAL rough on tires as I corner quite aggressively). I attribute the faster tire wear to aggressive driving, but as said, it's very even wear.

Should I still have an alignment??

    Thanks,
    Trav

Have the alignment checked if you suspect a problem, or if the car is less than a year old. Toyota will do an alignment for free during the first year if you complain loudly enough. The price difference between checking the alignment and actually doing an alignment doesn't make it worthwhile unless you're pretty sure you have a problem. Most of the money you pay when you get an alignment goes towards paying off the equipment they use to measure alignment, not the labour.

They don't actually check the alignment - they inspect the tires to see if there might be an alignment problem. There's a big difference.
