Air Intake vs. Performance Drop in

People, im in a room with no doors here heh, but which would be the better route?

before I ask the question, will this air intake work on a 1998 Toyota corolla non vvt-i ?
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-0...ewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQitemZ8033191120QQrdZ1

    Now the question...

    Which should I do,

Performance K&N Drop-in Filter and keep the stock airbox or, Air Intake?
please note I dont have the money to spend on a e.l. Prototypes cold air intake plus they are hard to find, Thanks

EL is the only cai that works for 8th gens. I had an injen and lost atleast 10HP and even more torque because it sucks in hot air. I'd say get the drop in filter rather than that injen. I ended up selling mine for $35 because nobody would pay more than that.. everybody knows it's all sound, no performance.

Yanno, I heard a few people on 9thgencorolla were essentially dropping in a performance filter and then dremeling a hole in the air box. It was supposed to give them some sort of performance boost above a drop in filter but I can't vouch since I have SRI....iono though I mean it could be worth a shot if you can't find an intake that work efficiently for your car (oh and the hole thing is sposed to make it sound like a SRI)
