    Air Intake: Short/Ram vs. Cold

I know this might be a nooooob question but anyway:

What are the major ups and downs of air intakes? Is it a mistake to get a short intake?

What type of performance gains can you get on a n/a 1ZZ-FE?

ok it kinda goes like this:
    SHORT RAM
Pros: Gain some power up in mid range to higher rpm, some torque gains (very little here), Awesome sound, better gas mileage, engine may be more "rev happy"
Cons: Loose low end power, installation (sensors and all), noise...

CAI: Pros- better high end power than short ram- especially when coupled w/ full exhaust system,
Cons: loose even more low end power, water hazards, gas mileage may suffer depending on many things, run very rich on the gas mixture...

if you dont have any other mods- i would definitley go w/ short ram- easier to install, and not so many problems..

Thanks d samurai. It sounds like short ram is for me since this will be my 1st engine mod. Does short ram cause sensors or CEL problems?
Also, how will short ram work with a catback?
