    air/fuel gauge reading

does anyone have a air/fuel gauge installed in a 03-05 corolla? i've tried 2 gauges and it never goes into the green. is there something wrong with the car or o2 sensor or is that just how the car reads.

    1) standard A/F's with full sweep are *NOT* 100% accurate as they do not utilize wide-band readings, they are narrow band. It's possible you could be slightly in the "green" but it not read it because the threshold is between two reading points.

    2) A stock motor is designed to run just barely under rich readings in order to provide a stoich mixture for your car. The only time you really want to be running richer readings is when you have forced induction or nitrous. If you car refuses to go into the "green" congratulations, your car is running perfect.

I would suggest to not buy the autometer O2s and just fork over the cash and purchase a AEM wideband O2 set up. They can be run on ANY car and they give you the reading in the proper stoich ratios.

reading in proper stoich ratios? wtf?

    ummm proper ratios yes...

stoich has to do with the mixture being is that it is the ideal combustion process during which a fuel is burned completely

you're either lean, stoich, rich in your fuel burning process.

but yes, the AEM is a good setup.
