AHHHHH my amp is pissing me off - nevermind

Ok i have a Alpine MRD 500 amp and i just installed it last weekend but havent really tuned it yet or played it loud. but when i put my volume level on my HU to half way my amp shuts down and gives me an error saying i have to much current? i have a nice clean ground and a good power connection. the system reads between 13.7 and 1`4.1 volts but my amp reading is stuck on 1.0
If anyone knows anything about this amp help me out or how do i eliminate the current problem? is it in the RCA's. i have a cheap pair hooked up for now but im lost. im not new to installing amps as i have installed many but im used to haveing two knobs one for gain and one for the crossover. now everything is digital and confuseing me.

    help

Also could my amp just be bad. but it is brand new???

How are your speakers hooked up, it sounds like your are running your subs in a configutation that makes a impedance lower than your amp can handle. That will make an over-current situation. That or if your speaker wire is partially shorting against some part of the frame.

Ok im a Dumb A$$ i figured what i did wrong. i hooked it up to a 1 ohm load. and did not even notice it. i got the 2 ohm version of the sub and i need the 4 ohm for me to properly set it to a 2 ohm load. i was reading the directions for the 4 ohm speakers. now everything works just fine just a little quieter now. but im going to trade my 2 ohm for a 4 ohm. then everyting will be fine. Next time i will read the entire direction. the 2 ohm speaker set up was on page 2 DOH next time i will look better. thanks anyways
